I haven't update the blog for about a year now. My "One Year Ago..." section on the right and the post right below this are one and the same.
You know how, when trying to clean and organized a room or closet, things look like a disaster while it's in progress? That's the year 2020. It's chaos. It's possible this chaos will be going on for a long time yet.
I look forward to seeing what's on the other side of what 2020 started.

Floki, the Viking
So...
We adopted a cat from the animal shelter yesterday.
His name is Floki Stripes Maow-Maow.
Yes, there are some regrets already. But he is ours and he is loved.

Mom's Day 2019
I had a fun Mother's Day weekend.
A rock and mineral show was in town, and I was able to go all three days! Two of the three days were with my friend Ronda (from Mid-Life Cruisers). We went out to lunch, too!
On Saturday, we went to see Avengers: Endgame as a family. First, we stopped at the grocery store for treats and Jack thought we should take this huge camp chair home with us.
Bria and Claire each made me some rubber-band bracelets.
Brian made me some lunch!
After church we went to see my mom.
It was a nice sunny day.
My dad decided to take us up the canyon to see the dams the reintroduced beavers were making.
Except for Bria, who sat in the cab (and Parker, who decided he wanted to just stay at the house and read) we all piled into the back of the truck.
Getting some fresh air.
Seeing some pretty views.
At one of the beaver dams...

"Beaver Reintroduction Area. Trapping or hunting beaver in this area is prohibited."
We continued up the canyon and saw more dams, turning around once we hint the snow level.
Stopping for a picture by a waterfall (while my dad picked flowers for my mom -- I wish I would have gotten a picture).
We also stopped to see Brian's mom for Mother's day as well.
(Claire broke her sandal, and had to have a picture to remember them before we could throw them away.)
One last gift from Claire.

May Scout Camp
Jack on an over-nighter for scouts.
He loves scout camp...
...probably because he gets to hang out with friends and be his wild self.

Finishing April 2019
Bria and Claire had a late night with a friend.
They wore onsies and put on face masks, among other things.
Claire loves to draw pictures of her favorite animal: the elephant.
All of my shells and such that I picked up from Florida, Haiti and Jamaica.
Love wearing my rocks and crystals.
Bria created this scene with play-dough.
A tree with grass and boulders.
Bria took a volleyball class this year (instead of playing soccer or softball).
She and her cousin were able to take the class together.
Which made it twice the fun.
She enjoyed volleyball more than she has softball and soccer.
(Probably because there wasn't as much running around, and since it was indoors, it wasn't burning hot in the sun, or freezing cold in the wind.)
I was enjoying the blooms in my front yard and the end of the school day...
So the kids got some pictures taken of themselves.
Brian had a dinner for work that I got to attend with him.
He was being inducted into a program at work, so I got my own place setting name tag.
Plus a name tag to wear, too.
Oooh, fancy.

Easter 2019 (Part 2)
Easter morning came early.
That's what happens when church starts at 9 a.m.
The allure of hidden Easter treats made it a bit easier to get out of bed.
Even for Parker and Jack.
They all found their baskets.
Sorting out candy.
After church, it was time for Easter dinner at Brian's parents' house.
All the cousins, young and old, went out to search for eggs, because one of them had $20 hidden inside.
